Northwoods Gourmet Girl’s storefront in downtown Greenville is hard to miss. Glorious hand-painted windows bring a fresh sense of creativity to the street and offer just a hint of what’s inside. “I’m an artist at heart,” says owner and creator Abby Freethy, a chef, designer, and lifestyle curator who has traveled the world with her craft. “Art is just as important to me as thoughtfully created food. Both are about connection, creativity, and beauty.”
Abby recently expanded her business into the historic Shaw Block building, a space she’s transformed into a blend of visual storytelling and culinary craftsmanship. Half of the space is home to her signature line of all-natural pantry staples—ketchup, mustard, preserves, and more—while the other half features curated lifestyle goods, fresh lunch offerings, and her own line of home products and interior styling. Known for her ethereal, botanical hand-painted windows and her thoughtful eye for space design, Abby has caught the attention of other businesses eager to bring her artistic style to their own storefronts and interiors. “I like being multifaceted in my approach. Whether I’m painting windows, designing a space, or cooking—it’s all about creating an atmosphere that feels good.”
With a background in textile design and over 35 years in the food industry, Abby brings depth, experience, and originality to everything she touches.
